Museum of Me & The Escape

Recently Intel launched two really engaging and visually appealing online initiatives called Museum of Me and The Escape. I played with both of them and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Museum of Me connected with all my facebook friends plus photographs to transform it into an exhibition. While the concept is very good the imagery on Museum walls was very small and images of top friends picked up didn’t really match with my top friends. I could just post pictures of this exercise and not having a feature to post the video experience was certainly a missed opportunity.

The Escape was even more engaging with embedding of friends in the video and a challenge to complete the operation. The entire experience was great with Intel’s messaging emerging in a very non intrusive manner. I earned some badges at the end of it. Ideally I would have liked to post the full video of my performance to my Social Network with the badges that I earned. Unfortunately that option didn’t exist and all I could do is to share just the link of this initiative on Facebook and Twitter. To me this is a missed opportunity to create even great impact and longevity in this campaign. Here is the link for the Escape:

Looking at both these examples I think Intel is headed into the right direction but somewhere the last mile connectivity is missing. I’m sure it is matter of time before they get it right. One thing I appreciated deeply was the fact that Intel respected my privacy and the app didn’t randomly post things onto my wall. In my opinion Intel deserves as 10 on 10 for this.
