Price differential in Tech Products

My brother is visiting HK and we have been busy shopping for some Tech products. It is a known fact that there is always a price differential (between big retail stores and local shops at Wan Chai Computer Center) on high value tech products. I was surprised to see a huge price differential on even a product like mouse.

I picked up a Logitech V470 Cordless Laser Mouse for my MacBookPro as I lost my previous mouse. I paid HK$ 230 at the Wan Chai Computer Center. The logitech website in Hong Kong listed the same product at HK$ 269 – I guess acceptable difference given the retail dynamics. What shocked me was the price listed on Apple Online Store. The same mouse is sold at HK$ 389 – close to 40% higher than the original manufacturers listed price. Apple is adding no particular value to this product to mark up it up by 40%. I’m a fan of Apple but this is indeed a day light robbery.

Given below are the links to online prices on Logitech and Apple websites.
